Recently, the Jiangsu High-value Patent Cultivation Project Demonstration Meeting (Nantong), sponsored by the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province (JSIPO) and organized by Nantong Municipal Intellectual Property Office and Nanjing University, was held in Nantong. The meeting took place online and offline simultaneously, with more than 200 participants from provincial and municipal IP offices, entities undertaking the project, key enterprises for high-value patent cultivation, and upstream and downstream enterprises across the industry chain.
At the meeting, the entities undertaking the project introduced the research on core technologies of recycling solid wastes under China's commitment to carbon emission peaking and carbon neutrality, the cultivation of high-value patents, and their experience in implementing the high-value patent cultivation project. Zhu Yu, a member of the National Expert Advisory Committee for Building an IP Powerhouse, gave a speech titled "Cultivation and Operation of High-value Patents", explaining how enterprises can cultivate high-value patents. At the meeting, Chen Jie, Deputy Director of Nantong Municipal Market Supervision Bureau, emphasized the necessity for enterprises undertaking the project to create a long-term mechanism for cultivating high-value patents and act as role models, for enterprises interested in building a high-value patent cultivation center to make a construction plan that works for them, and for IP authorities in Nantong to provide efficient services for building the center.
Ding Lan, Director of the Industrial Promotion Division of JSIPO, commented on the progress of the project and outlined specific requirements regarding collaboration on high-value patent cultivation, development of a long-term mechanism, and the leading role of demonstration enterprises.
